Treating Your Child
Rest assured Dr. Wilson regularly treats many children from newborns to young adults. In fact we can't encourage parents enough to bring your children in for conservative and effective care for many of the common conditions children experience every day.

Kids play hard and get inuries that can cause them pain and sometimes even unnecessary and long term problems. However the greatest response from care is with stimulating and enhancing immune strength for the common symptoms kids regularly come down with.

Treating children is not only safe, but the treatments are simple and certainly less dangerous than the harmful alternative drugs. Many of our testimonials are from the parents of our children patients - see what they have to say! Then discover for yourself how conservative chiropractic treatments can truly help your children!

Children get excellent results with chiropractic

Parents new to taking their children or babies to a chiropractor are often a little hesitant. There may be some concern about the safety and how the child will tolerate being 'adjusted'. Please know that a child's spine is not adjusted like and adult's. Even though a small child or baby may be quite fussy, they are usually quite easy to adjust and tolerate it well.

It may seem to many that a young spine is too nimble to be injured or 'locked up' like ours get as adults. While that may be true, the fact is a baby's spine can become subluxated just like an adult's. That is the kind of joint dysfunction and intereference to the nervous system that is detectable only to a trained chiropractor. It's not the kind of problem that will lead a 2 year old to grab one hip with one hand and push up on the thigh with the other as he grimaces and groans while getting up off the training toilet!

A young spine will normally develop perfectly by the end of pregnancy with rare exceptions. The events that take place around the time of birth and the early months thereafter are typically the cause that can have a great influence to upset the normal functioning of the spine. Spinal segments can become stressed and jammed to dysfunctional states of movement and alignment by the position of the baby in the womb, or can suffer similar problems during labor from the trauma of even the most normal vaginal birth and even from the birthing process itself. Even medical research has shown the fact that many problems early in a child's life can come from birth trauma. Of course these may be simple stresses as compared with the frequent falls and tumbles suffered by young infants in the first year or so. Ever watch a toddler drop straight down onto his or her bottom? Small as they are, there is still an impact that can harm spinal joints all the way to the head.

Most all joint problems, painful conditions and arthritic tendancies we experience as adults can be traced back to some point in time in our past and even to when we were children. Many times with a problem condition, adults ask the same question of "why does this [condition] keep hurting and coming back?" I can't answer that when I don't know what you did many years ago, but I can stongly urge you to consider that you can provide a wonderful opportunity to help prevent many of those same maladies for your children!
